The church has been kept standing, open and warm by the people of Caistor for a thousand years. Here is how to be part of that.
Why it matters
Preserve, share, grow
St Peter & St Paul receives no automatic funding for its running costs or its building. Everything — the heating, the insurance, the clock, the roof, the ministry across seven parishes — is paid for by the people who care about it.
The pattern is a long-established one here. The town clock was paid for by public subscription in 1853 and re-gilded after a house-to-house collection in 1893. Two bells came by the will of Martin Munday in 1832. The pinnacles were rebuilt in 1988, and the tower and nave roofs restored again in 2018. Each generation has provided for the one before it and the one after.
Every gift counts
Whether you worship here every week, were married here many years ago, or simply walk through the churchyard on your way into town, your gift helps to keep the door open.

Charity status
Like most Church of England parishes, the Parochial Church Council of Caistor with Clixby is an ‘excepted charity’ and is therefore not registered with the Charity Commission. The church code for St Peter & St Paul is 621377. A certificate confirming charity status can be issued from the Church of England’s database of churches via A Church Near You.
Leaving a legacy
Martin Munday left two bells to this church in 1832 ‘for the use benefit and amusement of the inhabitants of the town of Caistor forever’. If you are thinking about remembering the church in your will, the vicar would be glad to talk it through.
